Squash and Racketball

We have a mission to revitalise squash in the north of the county. The lack of a true squash club in Bedford, ever since the Kimbolton Road club closed down in the late 1990s, has hurt player development at both adult and junior level. We are addressing this by reviving junior and adult coaching in Bedford and creating social and competitive squash opportunities for all our members.

Whether you are a hardened squash veteran, or a newcomer to the sport, we have coaching and playing opportunities for you. We are particularly keen to get more people playing the sport in Bedford, so if you have never tried it, pop down and take a look. It is a superb sport for cardio and overall body conditioning, as well as being a lot of fun.

Playing Facilities

Club Towers offers four heated, block and plaster squash courts, with sprung flooring and toughened glass back walls. There is a viewing area behind the courts for spectators.

Leagues, Tournaments and Teams

Club Towers enters multiple teams into the local Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire leagues. It hosts inter-county squash weekends, bringing top County level squash into the Club, and has hosted the last two Bedfordshire County Closed squash tournaments.

Internal box leagues are also operated, enabling you to play competitive squash at your own standard, and to meet and socialise with other members.

Annual club tournaments are also run during the winter season for adults, senior age groups and juniors.

Court Booking

Club Towers operates an on-line booking system that enables you to book your court quickly and simply using your phone, tablet or PC. Courts are free to book for Racquets & Foundation members and can be reserved seven days in advance.

At Club Towers we offer a number of adult group coaching sessions catering for beginner and intermediate levels. Details can be found below.

When you join the club our coaching team will be happy to offer an introductory welcome session to assess your playing standard and guide you toward the coaching and playing opportunities that are more appropriate for your playing ability. This will ensure that you get the most from your membership.

At Club Towers our aim is to drive junior squash participation, introducing youngsters to squash and then helping them to enjoy it and develop their game as quickly as their ability allows.

Squash is a brilliant sport for youngsters. It helps to develop not only ball skills, but also the basic movement skills of agility, balance and coordination that underpin many other sporting activities, and important mental skills such as concentration, self-reliance and perseverance. It is also great for overall junior health and fitness.

We run junior coaching after school and on Saturdays as described below.

Tuesday 6.30pm

Whether you are new to squash or returning to it after a long break, start your squash journey at the Club with our free 4-week introductory Start-rite course.  During the four sessions, our coaches will improve your forehand, backhand, volleys and serve, with the aim that you can start to play socially by the end of the course.

Aimed at under 7s, mini-squash introduces the game, but also focuses on the ABCs – Agility, Balance and Coordination.  Children will play ball games designed to enhance their basic movement skills, and start to get used to racquets, in a safe environment using bigger balls and rackets.

Saturday 9.30 – 10.15am
