First Steel Erected
It was a momentous day yesterday as the first few parts of the steel structure were erected, almost 3 months after the initial groundwork started on-site. The contractors have started work at the south-eastern corner of the building, where the swimming pool and spa area will eventually be located on the ground floor, with the dance studio and gym above at first floor level.
The complete steel structure will take around 4-5 weeks to build, after which another week is spent making minor adjustments to ensure that the whole structure is completely square and aligned correctly ready for enclosing. The aim will be to have the building watertight towards the end of the Summer ready for fitting out internally.
Weather permitting, the entrance will be completed to base course level either today or early next week, and the first tarmac should be laid on the site to provide some much needed hard-standing.
