Club Towers Spinathon 2022 is here!

7 October 2022

We are excited to announce that our charity Spinathon is back! Taking place on Saturday 19th November between 1pm and 6pm we are asking our members to join us on the bikes to raise money for our members’ chosen charities; The Elisabeth Curtis Riding Centre for the Disabled and the Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger.

The Programme

There will be five consecutive 45-minute spin classes, with fifteen-minute breaks in between, led by our fantastic instructors:

Class 1: 1 – 1.45pm / Jason / The Ultimate Warm Up

Warm up with 45 minutes of mixed terrain intervals.

Class 2:  2 – 2.45pm / Natalie and Elaine / Rock the Highway to Hell

Now warm, we will get the heart rating going with mixed terrains and music to rock out to!

Class 3: 3 – 3.45pm / Maija / Power of Rhythm

A high intensity class that focuses on riding to the beat of the music and exploring the power of rhythm and our movement.

Class 4: 4 – 4.45pm / Louise and Hazel / Disco Dancing through the Hills

An upbeat session taught by Club Towers’ own Disco Diva Double act.  Take a journey through this popular music genre and take in some fantastic hill climbs, sweeping down hills and some fast flat roads.

Class 5: 5 – 5.45pm / Dave / Smooth Groove to the Lounge

R & B classics will see us home in the last low endurance class.

Each class will be suitable for beginners right through to experienced cyclists with levels available for all.  The programme is designed for those doing all 5 classes but is also great for anyone who wants to join us for 1 or 2.

During the classes refreshments will be provided and we would also like to invite everyone who takes part to a celebratory buffet in the Club Lounge afterwards, at around 6pm.

How to Get Involved

For those looking for that ultimate Spinathon experience we have a limited number of bikes available for members to join us for all 5 classes!  This is a great opportunity to challenge yourself, be taught by our highly experienced team with five different class types and raise lots of money for charity at the same time.

There are just 15 “Ultimate Spin” packages available at a cost of £130, with every penny going to the two charities. As well as experiencing the spin classes themselves, members who sign up for this package also receive:

  • A Club Towers Spinathon event water bottle
  • Chance to select your bike number /position.
  • Drinks & refreshments such as electrolytes throughout the Spinathon
  • A Club Lounge protein shake after class three.
  • A drink in the Club Lounge afterwards
  • Celebratory buffet in the Club Lounge afterwards

If you would like to join in but can’t commit to 5 hours, you can join us for 1, 2, or 3 classes at £20 per class.  We would very much like to fill every bike so whatever time (and energy!!) you can spare is greatly appreciated.

Why are we doing It?

We are hoping to raise as much money as we can for local charities:  Elisabeth Curtis Riding Centre for the Disabled and the Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger.  Here’s a short overview about the very worthwhile work they both do.

The Elisabeth Curtis Riding Centre for the Disabled, provide therapeutic riding sessions for disabled and special needs participants. Mainly catering for young riders, the centre can offer new skills, fitness, confidence building, postural therapy and most importantly fun!

The Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger provides expert care for life-limiting conditions.  They help with everything from pain and symptom management to emotional and practical help supporting people through the most difficult times of their lives.

Additional Fundraising

For those riders taking part, we would also encourage you to ask friends and family to sponsor you and we can provide a sponsorship form for you should you wish. Further details will be shared when you book your bike.

Instructors are giving their time for free to help us raise as much as possible (a great BIG thank you to them!) and the Club is covering all other costs, so all money made will go directly to the charities.

We can’t wait to see you all on the bikes and to raise lots of money for our charities!

To find out more, or if you have any questions, please do speak to the Reception team, your instructor or email Jo via [email protected]
